The biggest achievements in your kiteboarding career
Your hobbies aside kiteboarding?
Football, Golf, Diving Boards
What do you do on a day without wind?
I like to start the day with an early Gym session then get on my Mac at the local cafe for the morning. I like my kit cleaned & repacked perfectly in my van ready for the next session so I’ll spend some time sorting that. In the arvo I might visit a School and perform a Wonderful Wind Workshop. A round of Golf in the evening would complete a perfect day.
What style of music are you interested in?
I’m really into Deep House, it’s probably the only music I really listen to. I like that the sets can be hours long, it really takes you on a journey! Great for pre session motivation or at the Gym or to get you through a long drive.
How and why did you start kiteboarding?
I first noticed Kitesurfing in 2003 at the beach in Worthing my hometown. I had windsurfed for 2 years prior in the summers but the heights the Kitesurfers were jumping instantly got my attention. It looked like the perfect sport for me. I could use my aerial awareness I gained from the diving boards to pick up the moves quickly.
Why are you riding for Duotone?
I ride for Duotone because I want the best from every situation in my life. Kitesurfing is my job, my life and my passion. It’s essential I am happy with what I am riding but It’s not just about the equipment. It’s the super talented team around me + the people I am in contact with on a daily basis. Duotone is the Mercedes of Kiteboarding and I’m very proud to be on board with this team.
What is your main goal for the future?
Winning the Red Bull King of the Air. It has become a burning obsession.
What training do you do to stay fit?
I visit the gym and enjoy all aspects of it from weights to cardio. Rowing especially is great fun! I also like to play sport like football and golf. Those sorts of sports are not only good for exercise but keep hand eye coordination sharp.
What would have been your job if you wouldn´t be a pro kiteboarder?
