With the summer season not far off in the northern hemisphere, the froth levels to get on the water are rising all around.

In high anticipation of those warmer, windy days, we‘re sure you’re looking for inspiration on how to get a few new moves under your belt? We’ve got you covered! Head over to the Academy App, where we just added a range of 22 super cool new freestyle tricks for everyone’s taste — hooked and unhooked — and for all different riding levels.

 

In the hooked department, for the newbies to jumping, we’ve added tutorials that will help speed up your jumping progression from your first jumps to more advanced hooked jumps in no time. As with all our tutorials, the aim is always to accelerate your learning curve in the safest possible way, preparing you to go bigger and more technical step-by-step.

For the more advanced hooked riders, there are some really cool grab and board-off variations as well as some stylish, crazy combos such as the “Hooked Blind Double Front to Blind” or the “Tantrum Indy Grab”. Plus, a number of trick ideas in particular for light wind days! And who better than the hooked masters to teach you: the Brazilian Trick Machine Reno Romeu and the Lord of the Caribbean, Jeremie Tronet, the inventor of the Jesus Walk.

For the unhooked devotees, we have got Stefan Spiessberger as the protagonist to help spice up your unhooked game. Adding both technicality and new moves to your repertoire is always a challenge. But with the right technique, the correct key movements, and obviously the right foundation level, you will be sticking these moves in a flash!

HOOKED JUMP DOWNWIND
This is a very important step in your jump progression. This tutorial will help you to jump further downwind and land at a greater distance from where you took off.

HOOKED SEATBELT GRAB
Amongst the many variations of board grabs in kiteboarding, this one never gets boring. Plus, it looks super stylish! As the name suggests, it’s about reaching diagonally down with your backhand, to do a board grab between the nose of your board and the front foot strap

HOOKED TIC TAC BOARD OFF TRANSITION
You already know how to do a board off transition. And you’re looking for a move to take it a step further. This is the one!

 

HOOKED BLIND DOUBLE FRONT TO BLIND
For this advanced trick you take off riding blind before throwing a double front roll and landing into blind again. An extremely cool, crazy move!

 

UNHOOKED MUTE BACKMOBE
This mute grab backmobe combination adds style and technicality to your regular backmobe. Adding grabs to your backmobe can be testing, but it’s such a fun challenge and really worth it! So go for it!

 

UNHOOKED ROASTBEEF BACK TO BLIND
One of the best-looking grabs in any boardsport in combination with a smooth blind landing. It’s not the easiest grab to lock in, but with a bit of practice, you’ll nail it in no time, no doubt about it!
