Our flying Dutchman had never won an entire elimination before. When the wind finally kicked in on the 3rd day of competition, he didn't let anyone overtake him and lead the pack all the way through the final. As there were heaps of unexpected early drop outs of constant top sailors (like Pierre) the ranking got mixed up a lot. The following 13th and a 6th places though were enough for Jordy to climb onto the podium here in Korea on a second place. That means he is now leading the 2019 overall ranking together with Albeau.
Meanwhile Pierre Mortefon and Marco Lang could't find their racing flow and ended up on a 12th and respective 14th place. Well, this can happen to the best: In Korea this year, a lot of top seed riders surprisingly ended up on worse positions than expected.
The women had two contests going on at the same time: slalom and foil. Marion Mortefon showed great physical and mental strength during the waiting-for-wind-game. It paid back. She finished 2nd in the slalom and 3rd in the foil competition.
