When and where did you start Wing Foiling? I started wing foiling during the Fanatic/Duotone photo shoot in Maui in 2019, it was the first time I saw a wing foil and I was lucky enough have my first wing session with all the team at Kanaha.
What’s your watersports history – from which side did you enter Winging? When I was 7 or 8 years old, I began watersports with surfing and windsurfing, I also used to kitesurf a lot, but my main discipline over the last years was stand up paddling. I have been competing on the professional SUP race circuit for 8 years now.
What do you love about Wing Foiling? I love riding the ocean swell and the bumps, this is one of the best feelings I have with a water sport.
What’s your favourite conditions? Wind coming from the left, 20 knots and long waves!
What’s your top advice for a beginner? I advise beginners to get a big board and a big foil in order to take off easily. It can help to be a bit overpowered also.
Boom or handles? Hard handles is the best compromise for me because this is lighter than a boom and stiffer than soft handles.
