The season reached its unforgettable conclusion on the shores of Mykonos, a brand-new destination for the GKA Kite World Tour. The iconic Greek island delivered everything a World Cup event could ask for: strong winds, crystal-clear water, world-class riding, and the chance to battle for a share of a €70,000 prize purse, the largest ever offered in a Big Air competition.

Heading into the final event, the championship race remained wide open.

The season had opened in Barcarès, France, where Mikaili Sol finished second in challenging conditions. Mikaili delivered the calculated, composed riding that has defined her career, banking valuable championship points and setting herself up perfectly for the final showdown in Greece.

On the men's side, Finn Flügel finished in second putting him in strong contention with Jaime Overbeek claiming the victory in the first round in Barcarès aboard his Rebel D/Lab.

Day one in Mykonos saw Men's and Women's Rounds 1 and 2 completed in powerful winds, setting the tone for what would become a memorable event.

The women's field showcased just how far Big Air riding has progressed. Twelve of the world's best athletes arrived ready to push the discipline to new heights, including ten-time World Champion Gisela Pulido, who returned to Twintip competition after more than a decade away following her Olympic Kitefoil campaign at Paris 2024.

Mikaili Sol advanced directly to the semi-finals from Round 1, while Aya Kasabova secured her place through Round 2 in one of the day's more challenging heats. Pulido narrowly missed advancing despite an impressive return performance.

The semi-finals produced more drama. Aya Kasabova eliminated contest veterans Nathalie Lambrecht and Alessa Sophia Mensch, with Mensch still in contention for the overall title at the time. In the second semi-final, Mikaili demonstrated the championship form that has become synonymous with her name, building a commanding lead early and never looking under pressure.

The women's final featured Mikaili Sol, and Duotone’s fifteen-year-old rising star Aya Kasabova.

Aya continued her remarkable run, landing trick after trick and proving she belongs among the sport's elite and securing second spot, skyrocketing her to third place in the overall standings.

As the final attempts approached, Mikaili sat on 22.54 points and was able to return to shore knowing both the event victory and her ninth World Title were secured.

Andrea Principi’s run also ended in a tough heat in the quarterfinals to bring his run to an end.

Jaime Overbeek carried his winning form from Barcarès deep into the Mykonos event, once again proving himself among the most consistent riders of the season.

His run to the final secured the vice World Champion position overall, completing an impressive two-event championship campaign aboard the Rebel D/Lab.
