Presenting the most sophisticated fins out there! This is the easiest way to boost the performance of your board.

DUOTONE-Windsurf_SS26_Fins-Technology

LET'S TALK ABOUT FINS

THE MATCHING FIN DESIGN HAS A SIMILAR IMPORTANCE TO THE BOARD PERFORMANCE AS THE RIGHT MAST FOR THE SAIL.
THAT'S WHY WE HAVE SPENT A TREMENDOUS TIME AND EFFORT INTO SETTING UP A TRULY UNIQUE FIN RANGE.

THE 2 MOST INFLUENTIAL FIN DESIGNERS
With Dani Aeberli and Kai Hopf, the two Windsurfing fin designers with the most experience are responsible for our new fin range. Together, they represent over 50 years of expertise in fin design.

EXCLUSIVE SOFTWARE
We use our own dedicated fin 3d software. This software enables a perfect profile transition in the crucial tip area, where the fin sweeps backward. This is one of the secrets behind the outstanding efficiency of our fins.

EXCLUSIVE PRODUCTION
Setting up our own exclusive production was inevitable to take our fin performance to the next level. Every process is supervised on site by our own QC specialist Vasin Siritho to guarantee the highest level in quality and consistency.

FIN SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGIES
Instead of using the same technology for all our fins we are the only fin brand using 3 different technologies according to the fin length and range of use.

WHY OFFERING 3 DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES?

Here are the differences:

Injection molded fins are manufactured using a metal outside mold. Our exclusive CARBO_TECH material —a proprietary blend of thermoplastic polymer and carbon fibers— is injected into the mold under extremely high pressure and heat.

Advantages:
- Since this material is softer than G10 it's the ideal choice for shorter maneuver side fins to ensure the necessary tip flex despite the short length.

Disadvantages:
- For fins longer than 12cm, injection molded fins are too soft to ensure a proper performance.

Best suited for:
Injection molded fins are the ideal choice for short side fins.

G10 is an extremely compressed block of prepreg laminated fiberglass sheets. This block is placed in a CNC milling machine to create the final shape and profile.

Advantages:
- Due to its high-compression G10 is extremely durable.
- Easy to sand, allowing to repair damages caused by ground contact.

Disadvantages:
- The high-compression results in a higher weight, which is noticeable with longer fins.
- Not stiff enough for longer high-performance freeride/race fins.

Best suited for:
G10 is the ideal choice for medium-size maneuver center fins.

This is the most sophisticated method of manufacturing a fin. It is based on individual pre-impregnated (prepreg) fiber layers out of carbon and glass. These layers consist of single fibers that are laid side by side onto a carrier film and then pre-impregnated with resin by a specialized supplier in an industrial hydraulic press. This ensures the ideal ratio between fibers and resin (not too much, to avoid excessive weight and ensure a perfect bond between the layers, and not too little, to avoid dry spots that can lead to breakage) even before it is further processed by our factory.
For these reasons, prepreg fins are at least 50% stronger in terms of breaking strength than the standard/conventional RTM technology, which uses dry fibers with "uncontrolled" resin addition.

Advantages:
- Flex and twist are not only determined by the length, width, and profile thickness of the fin design (as with G10 fins), but can also be adjusted by the arrangement of the prepreg layers.
- Lighter than G10.

Disadvantages:
- Not as easy to repair damages caused by ground contact.
- The most expensive way to manufacture a fin.

Best suited for:
Prepreg fins are ideal for longer high-performance fins from freeride up to racing.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Experience wave‑riding performance at its finest with the new TRI fin set — the ultimate upgrade for any high‑performance tri/thruster wave board. Crafted by fin‑design master Kai Hopf and backed by more than 30 years of innovation alongside the world’s top wave sailors, this set delivers pure, purpose‑built precision.

We offer the fins exclusively as a complete set because they were engineered to work in perfect harmony — exactly as Kai intended.

While other brands rely on compromise designs that need to work across multiple setups (single, tri/thruster, quad), the TRI fin set is different. It’s a no‑compromise, high‑end solution created to meet — and exceed — the expectations of World Cup‑level riders. In fact, it’s an open secret that many of the sport’s top professionals have been relying on Kai’s custom fin designs for years. Now, that same elite performance is available to every rider.

Shorter fins. Higher performance.

One of the key indicators of their efficiency: our fins are 1–2 cm shorter than comparable tri/thruster sets. This is made possible through our exclusive AI_FIN CAD software, which creates a flawless, highly efficient profile transition in the critical tip area where the fin sweeps backward. The benefits?

  • Radically improved maneuverability
  • Excellent grip without any sticky feeling
  • Instant, precise response in every turn

Premium materials. Maximum perfection.

  • The center fin is precision CNC‑milled from black G10, an ultra‑dense, prepreg‑laminated fiberglass block. G10 is the ideal choice for medium-size maneuver center fins.
  • The side fins are injection molded using our exclusive CARBO_TECH material to ensure the necessary tip flex despite the short length.

This is the level of quality and consistency that serious wave sailors expect.

Choosing the right size

Select your TRI set according to the recommendations below. Oversized fins generate excessive tail lift, making your board feel sticky and harder to turn. The correct size ensures your board performs exactly as intended — loose, fast, and precise.

Quote KAI HOPF (CHIEF DESIGNER)

»MY FIRST PRIORITY FOR WAVE FINS HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO DESIGN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE FINS. BECAUSE THE SHORTER THE FIN THE MORE RADICAL IT TURNS. SINCE MY DESIGNS ARE EXTREMELY EFFICIENT THEY STILL HAVE A SIMILAR PERFORMANCE THAN 2CM LONGER FINS. THE MAJOR ROLE IN THAT PLAYS OUR AI FIN 3D SOFTWARE WHICH CREATES A PERFECTLY SMOOTH PROFILE TRANSITION IN THE CRITICAL TIP AREA WHERE THE OUTLINE SWEEPS BACK.«
