Rider Review on the 2025 Dice SLS Kite

The Dice SLS is known for its versatility in freestyle, powerful loops, and wave riding. How has the new 2025 model performed for you across these disciplines?

The 2025 Dice SLS is the perfect kite for freestyle, strapless and powerful kite loops. The three-strut design gives it the slack needed for freestyle, excellent drifting for wave riding, andit’s awesome for powered kiteloops. The kite is also incredibly forgiving, which is great across all these disciplines.

Manuel mentioned that the new Dice SLS is more responsive and easier to control in strong winds. Have you noticed these updates, and how do they influence your riding style?

Absolutely, the improvements are very noticeable. The kite gives you a lot of feedback on the bar, so you always know where it is in the sky. This control and forgiveness make it easier to push your limits, the wind range has also improved a lot in the low and mid wind ranges. The kite's performance really comes alive much sooner now, making it perfect for those days when the wind isn't quite as strong.

How does the new Dice SLS handle during freestyle sessions and kite loops? Do you feel any significant differences in pop, slack, or power compared to previous versions?

For freestyle, the Dice SLS delivers great pop and slack, making it ideal for tricks like handle passes and with the kite set on the hard setting, it’s perfect for maintaining steady kite position for freestyle tricks. When it comes to kite loops, this kite is amazing for progression and performing all styles of loops. It turns fast and even around the tip axis which gives you full control and it catches you every time. Even when you're riding overpowered, it's a very safe and forgiving kite. The feedback through the bar is also a feature that really comes into play for these styles of riding, and you really feel where your kite is at all times.

The new model has seen improvements in wave riding, particularly in smaller sizes. How does it perform in wave conditions, and have you noticed better drift and maneuverability?

I don’t personally do a lot of wave riding but the quick turning, depower, and drift of the Dice SLS would be really good attributes in wave riding. The three-strut SLS design makes it lighter and more agile, which is crucial when you're riding waves or doing strapless freestyle. The kite's ability to drift and its responsiveness would make it easy to maneuver in wave conditions.

Who do you think would benefit most from the new Dice SLS, and how does it fit into the Duotone lineup compared to other kites you’ve ridden?

The Dice SLS is for the rider who wants a bit of everything—freestyle, unhooked tricks, aggressive kite loops, and strapless freestyle. For freestyle, it’s more forgiving and easier to use than the Vegas, which is the dedicated freestyle kite, but it still performs exceptionally well in big air kite loops and waves. It may not give you the lift and hang time of a Rebel or quite the same drift of a Neo, but it offers a very direct, responsive feel across all disciplines. If you’re looking for an exhilarating, powerful kite that can handle a variety of styles, the Dice SLS is the perfect choice.
