When and where did you start Wing Foiling?
In 2020, my uncle Jérôme made me try Wing Foiling in Guadeloupe and I immediately loved it!
What’s your watersports history – from which side did you enter Winging?
First, I have learned Surfing, Windsurfing and Sailing with my dad, Sebastien at the age of 5. Between the age of 6 and 10 I participated in Sailing competitions, Optimist and Windsurf, then I started also Surfing competitions. Now, on my home island depending on the conditions, I ride all year round either on a Wing Foil or on a Surf Foil.
What do you love about Wing Foiling?
I love the feeling of flying over the water and surfing waves, trying to do radical tricks and airs with the foil! I also love trying new freestyle tricks, but I hate breaking gear. When I learned the backflip, I tinkered with a long leash to practice without tearing my wing. Otherwise, I love beating my father in racing (and all the other members of my family! :-))
What’s your favourite conditions?
When the wind is strong with about 25 knots side off with big waves and I can ride with my 2,5m wing.
What’s your top advice for a beginner?
Use suitable equipment: a large wing board. My grandfather Adrien started Wing Foiling at the age of 73 and he managed to fly quickly.
Boom or handles?
I prefer handles because it is easier to set up and less chance to forget a boom on the beach!
