Francesca has been a staple on the Duotone Kiteboarding International team for quite some time. She made an impact on the freestyle circuit for many years, regularly claiming podium finishes and always doing so with humility, tenacity, and a huge smile on her face. She is a rider who knows the definition of hard work and also one who doesn’t take herself too seriously. We were thrilled to see Francesca back on the world tour and, true to form, finding success! We caught up with the comeback Queen after her fourth-place finish at the GKA Copa Kitely World Cup event in Brazil.

Across the globe, the obvious spotlight for competitive kiteboarding has largely been pointed in the direction of the Freestyle, Big Air and Racing disciplines. However, the small town and USA kiteboarding mecca, Hood River, Oregon, recently hosted the second annual Kite Park League Team Battle event, a grassroots contest focused on producing collective group videos across brands which were filmed over a fixed 1-week timeline. After experiencing renowned success and recognition from the inaugural event held in 2022, competitors and viewers alike begged for more. And that is just what the KPL has delivered.

Developing your wave riding skills and adding new manoeuvres to your bag of tricks is one of the best feelings in the world. No wave is ever the same, and the greater the variety of moves you’ve got dialled, the more opportunities you will have to shred every section that a wave throws at you.
