JENNA SPEED WORLD CHAMPION

Jenna Gibson has once again proven that she is the fastest woman out there! Last year, she narrowly missed out on a win at the World Championships, but she came back stronger, breaking the women's speed world record multiple times in Lüderitz and claiming victory at the 2025 Speed World Championships on our new FALCON_SPEED D/LAB boards.

The newly crowned world champion on the event:

Jenna : 'After a good first day of competition, the offshore wind we need for speedsailing completely disappeared.

During the week we still got plenty of chances to get on the water at nearby lakes, we did some foil racing and also a bit of medium wind slalom freesailing. We had a barbecue with all the sailors, and occupied ourselves well, so the time passed pretty quickly.

The Tramontana came back on the final 2 days of the competition. Which allowed us to finish off the event with 3 fin races. There was lots of shallow sandbars. Even though we're only using 21cm fins, lots of people had crashes, including myself on the day before the competition, so it was a really test of nerve to try and sail in the flattest water. The wind was a bit gusty, so the timing of the run really made a big difference to your speeds. I took the tactic of: more runs = more chance of a good gust. In the end it paid off and I'm really happy to have won this World Championship.

My kit choice for the week was the 5.0 and 5.8 Warp_Fin , using the 56 Falcon Speed D/LAB paired with a 21cm F-Hot fin. Which covered me in all the conditions from 25-40knots'

Making a bigger name for himself in the speed scene: Simon Pettifer.

Simon: 'I've had a pretty amazing time at the Speed World Championships. I came wanting to get into the top 10 and after 2 days of racing I was in 3rd position, so I was super happy. Unfortunately, after 2 more races due to the count back, I just missed out on the top 10. But I'll take the 11th place. There were some pretty big names here so, I will learn from it and next time top 10 for sure.

The gear has been amazing the 6.8 is a beast and is super fast on a square course. The 5.8 again, beast of a sail lots of controllable power whenever you need it.

All in all it was a great event, we had wind, flat water....some sand bars, haha, but we had alot of fun and some great memories were made.'

Young talent on the rise!

We’d also like to give a special mention to Isabelle Westerveld, just 12 years old, who took part on the first day of the event after breaking her personal record several times. With some guidance from event organizer Principe Baldini, she’s looking more and more confident on the speed course and clearly shows signs of a bright future ahead!

Shout-out to Principe for organizing the event, to our riders for proving just how fast our gear is, and to Aurélien Toulan for the amazing photos!
