FIN SLALOM EUROPEAN TITLE & MORE
Jenna Gibson adds another European title to her repertoire, while Sacha Fortune claims a podium spot in the men’s division.
Hvide Sande in Denmark was this year’s host for the IFCA Fin Slalom European Championships, and the conditions showed why! Eight eliminations were completed for the men, while 16 finals were run by the women. Challenging conditions in many ways, but a very successful event was the conclusion.

As expected in Denmark, we had squalls driven by the rain clouds. Despite a windy forecast the week before, the big winds didn’t quite materialize and the setup of the week was the 7.7 Warp_Fin, 118 Falcon D/LAB paired with a 37 F-Hot fin for all but one of the eliminations. This covered me for racing in everything from 10-25+knots. Conditions were tricky with very choppy waters , seaweed and unpredictable winds, but this setup has been working incredibly well throughout the week in everything Denmark has thrown at us. Super happy to take the win after a bit of a disappointing result in Fuerte, great to finish the year on a high, but also with clear areas of what to work on over the winter.

Sacha Fortune stepping on the big men stage:
The IFCA European Championship in Denmark was an intense six-day competition, and I was really happy to finish 3rd in the Senior fleet.
It was also great to be back on this spot, where I became Youth World Champion two years ago. The racing was really tight, especially with Taty Frans, Brendan Lorroh and Jimmy Thieme, which made every race exciting and challenging. Strategy played a big role, and choosing the right way around the course was sometimes just as important as pure speed.
I was really happy to have my 8.5 and 7.7 WARP FIN, together with my *FALCON FIN 118 and 139*. The combination gave me a lot of performance and confidence, especially when the conditions were not easy, and made the close battles on the water even more enjoyable.
Even though, I have to admit, I would have loved to get some conditions for the 6.2 / 98 combo… I really love sailing this setup!

Beside Jenna and Sacha, Team Duotone had way more success!
Victor Schulz-Jakobsen was in his home country, putting on a strong performance and finishing 2nd in Junior U17!
Showing you don't need a Warp_Fin to go fast, Isabelle Westerveld made her way to 3rd in Youth Women with the X_Pace!
In the Grandmaster division, Duotone was also well represented, with Simon Pettifer finishing 2nd and Dominik Kocholl finishing 3rd.
A strong showing across the field, with plenty of podiums to celebrate for Team Duotone!
