DANISH DOMINATION AT THE PWA YOUTH FOIL SLALOM

Back-to-back wins for Kasper Friis Nielsen at the PWA World Tour Youth events in Aruba and Bonaire.

In the foil slalom discipline, Kasper showed incredible speed on the beautiful Caribbean waters, ultimately claiming victory at both stops. We caught up with Kasper to hear how experienced the events, here's what he had to say:

Racing on Aruba and Bonaire... can it get any better?

Kasper: 'I don’t think it can get much better! The two spots are like paridise - blue water and 15-30 every day! It can’t get any better.'

What were the conditions like?

Kasper: 'It was actually two quite easy spots to sail in. Flat water, easy to get in and out of the water and it’s always windy.'

What gear did you use most of the time?

Kasper: 'I was only going in the foil division so I was always on the 169 Falcon foil d/lab and the warp foil sails where I used the 6.4 almost all week.'

2 events, 2 wins: still room for improvement?

Kasper: 'Of course there is always room for improvements.'

What stood out to you about each island, both on and off the water?

Kasper: 'On land it was probably the people! All the people were so nice and helpful! On water it was probably how hot it was while sailing!'

Any tips for young riders hoping to compete in places like Aruba or Bonaire?

Kasper: 'My best tip is just to have fun on the water then it will always end up good!'

What else is on your calendar for 2025 and what are your goals?

Kasper: 'My calendar is quite packed. I’m already leaving for Croatia in a week to compete in the IFCA Europeans and my goal is of course to win.'
