LEON MAETHNER

I grow up and live in Germany close to Kiel at the Baltic Sea. I started windsurfing when I was 5 years old because of my parents, who also really like to windsurf. My parents taught me the basics of windsurfing. When I was 8 years old, I was very happy to participate at the Vincent Langer's Kids Camp for the first time. From that time on Vincent also taught me many windsurfing skills, especially in slalom. Since I am 13 years old my brother Marlon and I are in the Windsurf-Foiling-Team of Vincent, who trains us regularly in competitive Windsurf-Foiling. 

When I was 11 years old, I was out in Klitmøller in bigger waves for my first time and my parents always kept an eye on me. Now it is my big brother Marlon, my windsurfing friends and teammates I ask for tips to improve my skills in Wave-Windsurfing. 

Because Windsurfing is our Family-Sport we all love to go on vacation to spots where we are able to windsurf. That’s why I got the great opportunity to windsurf in Pozo Izquierdo every summer since I am 12 years old and to travel to other nice spots in the world like Ho’okipa on Maui.

Windsurfing-Competitions in wave and slalom I started to participate since I am 13 years old and it is always great fun to share the windsurfing-sessions with friends and everybody who loves windsurfing.
