- RESERVE ONDERDELEN
Hi Ralf! What did you set out to achieve for the 2019 Evo?
In 2018 we made the decision to reduce the number of struts on the Evo from 5 to 3. It was the final piece of the puzzle that was missing from what is now the greatest free ride formula. It really set the foundations for us to create something outstanding for 2019.
My goal was to check the boundaries on the new Evo construction. Even though it is, and will always be the ultimate all-round kite, I wanted to see how much further we could go between lightness and structure, handling performance and balance, depower and agility, fast and responsive with light steering pressure.
What are the main design and performance updates for this year’s model?
Different aspect ratios can be found on the smaller sizes this year, which delivers a very stable kite with epic depower. The depower performance across all sizes also allows the user to take a bigger kite if they want. You will also find that the EVO has more precise feedback combined with a lighter bar pressure, which ensures great handling in strong conditions. The reduction in overall weight combined with a solid and stable frame means that wave riders will also enjoy its playfulness.
