This October, Thomas Cook opens its latest Casa Cook hotel on the shores of Egypt’s Red Sea and has partnered with Duotone – one of the world’s leading wind and water sport suppliers – to offer a first of its kind kiteboarding center.

The brand-new center, opening end of this year, encourages guests of all experience levels to make the most of Duotone’s skilled experts and premium equipment. The center will offer everyone from first-timers to seasoned professionals a curated series of classes with qualified coaches using the latest state-of-the-art equipment. In its first year, it will focus on creating a world-class kiteboarding hub, expanding into other water sports in years to come.

Casa Cook El Gouna is the second in the collection designed with the postmodern family in mind and the center will offer water sports courses for children, including paddle-boarding and iRig classes. A new innovation, the iRig is an inflatable and ultra-light sail that can be used as a paddle-board and a wind sail. Paddleboards and iRigs will also be available for adults.
The center has been handcrafted to echo Casa Cook’s signature design ethos – contemporary and simplistic, punctuated by clean lines and bursts of tropical jungle. The space opens up directly onto the beach, with sweeping views over the lagoon.

El Gouna is renowned for its superior water sports conditions thanks to its shallow waters, spacious beach fronts and year-round excellent winds. Each year, professionals and water sports aficionados head to El Gouna to be part of the adventure. Prices range from €90 for an hour’s private lesson to €350 for a 5-hour beginner class where participants learn about the theory of the sport of kitesurfing including material science, physical basics, dry land training, safety training as well as extensive time practising with instructors in the water.
