Marlon Maethner

I grew up close to Kiel at the Baltic Sea. When I was 5 years old my parents started to teach me how to windsurf with a 0.8 m2 sail. Since I was 9 years old I participated every year at the Windsurfing Kids Camp of Vincent Langer, where I was part of the coaching team 9 years later. Since 2020 I belong to the Windsurfing-Foiling-Team of our region in the North of Germany together with my smaller brother Leon and Vincent, as our coach, teaches us how to Windsurf-Foil competitive.

As a small kid I watched my parents going windsurfing in the waves of Klitmøller and then with around 13 I started to windsurf the waves of Cold Hawaii on windy weekends and vacations by myself. Since I am 15 years old we spend our summer vacations in Pozo Izquierdo, where I could improve my windsurf skills, learning from my windsurfing teammates and friends. With 16 years I started to compete in wave and slalom competitions. 2022 my dream came true to have the opportunity to come to Maui and windsurf in Ho’okipa.
