JORDY EUROPEAN CHAMPION
With his 2026 racing gear straight from the packaging onto the racecourse, Jordy Vonk claimed his first European title at the IFCA European Championships in Lake Garda last week.
From 14 to 19 October, the IFCA European Slalom Championships for Fin and Foil took place in Torbole, Lake Garda. With the famous Ora winds blowing every day of the competition, the event was a great success. In total, 9 eliminations were completed: 4 in the Fin division and 5 in the Foil division. Jordy Vonk was the most successful men competitor, being the only guy achieving a podium finish in both divisions, while the rest of the team also delivered some impressive performances!

Jordy Vonk European Champion Fin Slalom & 3rd Foil Slalom
Duotone: 'While some riders focused on just one discipline, Jordy set his sights high in both! His main goal was to become European Champion on the brand-new 2026 Warp_Fin and Falcon_Fin D/LAB. Without even having the chance to tune his new gear, he took it straight from the packaging to winning races on the same day. After a consistent run of results: 3, 0.7, 0.7, 2 , Jordy secured his first European title, and we’re thrilled with the first results on the 2026 gear!'
Jordy: 'I've been using the Warp_Fin 8.5 and Falcon_Fin D/LAB 139 the whole event and super happy with the performance! It was a long time ago racing on the big fin gear. but honestly it was a lot of fun. Beside that I was stoked about my foil results too, I went into the last day in 2nd place and I think I should have kept that place, but a little mistakes in the last semi final made me lose that spot.... but after a busy period and being the only guy who was challeging for both podiums, I was still proud to finish third in the Foil Slalom as well!'
Sacha Fortune most impressive youth rider
Duotone: 'Just like in the overall rankings, there was only one rider who managed to finish on both youth podiums: Sacha Fortune! He impressed with a 6th place overall in the Fin Slalom Men’s division and showed he could have climbed even higher in the Foil Slalom with a bit more luck. Sacha can be very proud of his results: winning the Fin Slalom Youth category and taking 3rd place in the Foil Slalom Youth category.

Kasper Nielsen & Bjarne van der Weg pushing on the foil
Duotone: 'Dedicated to the Foil, Kasper Nielsen from Denmark and Bjarne van der Weg from the Netherlands both showed great speed and pace across the racecourse, ultimately finishing 17th and 20th overall.'
Luis Burkhart new to the team and 2nd Junior
Duotone: 'Luis Burkhart is a young Italian rider who recently joined Team Duotone. Borrowing sails from Marco Lang and riding his brand-new Falcon_Fin D/LAB 124, he sailed his way to second place in the juniors at the event! An awesome performance by Luis and we can’t wait to follow his progress in the coming years!
