Wing Foiling & Foiling on Fiji - Is This Real?
Fiji Episode with Paula Novotna
Crystal-clear waters, powerful reef waves, and three weeks spent chasing swell, wind, and perfect lines. What started as a last-minute decision quickly turned into one of the most unreal foil adventures of Paula´s life. Remote islands, empty lineups, Tow Foiling, Wing Ffoiling — and moments that genuinely made me stop and think: Is this even real?
Welcome to join Paula Novotna´s Fiji adventure, a place that feels like a playground at the very end of the world.

Paula about her dream trip: “From the very first boat ride through turquoise water, everything revolved around the ocean. Our days were shaped by tides, forecasts, and water time — wingfoiling until exhaustion, towing into glassy reef waves, and following lines that seemed to go on forever. Time slowed down out there. Eat, rest, ride. Repeat.
Tow foiling completely changed the trip. Flying over long reef waves without a wing — just board and foil — unlocked a new level of speed, flow, and freedom. The water was so clear it felt like riding above an aquarium, with coral and fish visible meters below while silently gliding above it all.
Staying near Namotu and Malolo gave us the freedom to explore beyond the crowded spots. By reading the reef and trusting the lines, we found empty breaks and rode them day after day — no noise, no rush, just clean waves rolling in. Even Cloudbreak, a wave I’d always thought of as untouchable, became reality. Riding it on foil is something I’ll carry with me forever.
Fiji isn’t always easy. The ocean is powerful and demands respect — but that’s exactly what makes it so special. Any fear fades quickly when you’re flying above the water in a place like this. What stays is adrenaline, connection, and the feeling of having experienced something truly rare."

»This trip was a solid 10/10 — and we’re already planning to come back during peak wind season.«

Gear Setup:
We mainly rode the Duotone Crest foil with the 675 front wing — fast, smooth, and incredibly balanced across wingfoiling, tow foiling, and long glides. Paired with Sky Style boards and Unit and Float wings (we already had the new models launching March - stay tuned), the setup delivered confidence, control, and versatility in Fiji’s ever-changing conditions.
Some of the footage was filmed using the Insta360 X5 with a selfie stick, combined with the SAIL Video System, allowing for smooth, immersive self-shot angles on the water — even when riding alone.
