Alfa HD (SB, incl. fin)

The ALFA HD is our purpose-built school windsurfing board, designed from the ground up for high-frequency 24-7 use in professional teaching environments.

Where most school boards are adapted from existing designs, the ALFA HD starts with a clean slate — every element of its shape, construction and equipment spec developed specifically for the demands of daily rental and schooling.

Construction

The construction is focussed on durability using our CNC TOUGH SKIN Technology, a process that machines an 0.8mm impact-resistant thermoplastic polymer ASA outer skin over the board's core. The thermoform ASA material is known for its extraordinary impact and ding resistance. An additional wide reinforcing band around the rails protects this most exposed area from impacts — maintaining structural integrity across seasons rather than lessons.

The ALFA HD comes in 3 different sizes covering all kind of student body weights:

Instead of using the widely adopted OEM design, we developed the ALFA HD from the ground up, incorporating feedback from windsurfing schools around the world to make it the ultimate learning machine:

> The bottom shape features a reduced Vee in the front to reduce damages when students sail "onto" the beach or dragging the board across the sand. A progressive Vee towards the tail round out the package, delivering comfort, ease, and control even in chop.

> A longer flat center rocker maximizes stability and efficiency before planing, with a smooth tail rocker curve that transitions into gliding mode without any sudden power surge.

> Fuller nose and center rails add volume and confidence, while ergonomic tail rails ensure accurate response to sail and foot steering.

> Wide enough for easy uphauling and stable enough to track straight at low speeds, the ALFA HD is the perfect first windsurfing board — yet its effortless glide makes it the ultimate school board.

The ALFA HD is the most advanced learning machine packed with tech features to elevate the learning experience:

> STANCE MARKERS and RIGHT OF WAY INDICATORS: Visual guides on the board enable teachers to use these as teaching aids without the need for additional equipment:

- "Stylish" and non-confusing STANCE MARKERS: white indicates the uphaul position - turquoise indicates the stance position when getting going.

- Red and green RIGHT OF WAY INDICATORS at the nose 

> Dedicated exclusive schooling fin incl. Quick-Lock System: Instead of a typical long and narrow OEM fin, we’ve invested in our own design. Our ALFA fin is based on a freestyle design that takes full advantage of the total width of the Powerbox base. This allowed us to reduce the length by nearly 10 cm without decreasing the total surface area, while maintaining the same drift stability. Keeping the length as short as possible is extremely important when students are sailing the board “onto” the beach. The Quick-Lock system is the most convenient way to mount your fin, as no screwdriver is required—ideal for storage on a rack. The recessed extension lever guarantees maximum leverage and is 100% fail-safe.

> Duo structure EVA pad: A large 6mm deck pad covers the entire stance area. To combine maximum grip and durability the pad features 2 different structures: at the inside our exclusive diamond structure ensures maximum grip level while the frame at the exposed rails features a non-structured EVA which is proven to have the highest abrasion resistance. The pad ends above the rail for longevity when stored and pushed into board-racks. Finally we only select EVA colours which don't look dirty after use and will also resist fading after hours in the sun.

> 100% Allgaier daggerboard system: There is no alternative to a retractable daggerboard when it comes to everyday use in a busy surf center. Unlike others, we are not only using the original Allgaier daggerboard, but also the original Allgaier casing. This makes it the most reliable and functional system. Widely available spare parts make it easily serviceable. Last but not least, all board sizes come with the same daggerboard length.

> Easy handling + security: A SUP grab handle at the nose and a soft handle at the tail make it easier to carry the board into the water. Can also be used as an attachment point to lock the boards at night.

> Integrated foostrap plugs: Even though the ALFA HD isn't designed purely for planing, it can still be equipped with footstraps (not included). This way, beginners can be prepared for riding with straps.
