Young Blood meets Pro Team 2024
An Epic Camp in the Books!
Our "Young Blood Meets Pro Team" Invitational Camp returned to Tarifa for the third time, bringing together the next generation of Wing Foilers. Talented riders from eight countries—Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, and Great Britain—trained alongside Duotone's rising stars, including Aleks & Tom Acherer, Charlie Loch, and Mar de Arce.
Over three action-packed and intense days, our pro coaches—Jerome Cloetens, Henning Nockel, Jaime Herraiz, and Michi Rossmeier—shared their decades of experience as professional athletes and competitors. The training went beyond riding skills only, with dedicated workshops offering valuable insights on contest preparation, working with photographers and filmers, social media management, and even gear repair. These expert tips & tricks equipped the next generation of Wing Foilers with everything they need to be successful on and off the water!
Equipped with brand new HERO 13 cameras from our event cooperation partner GoPro, we challenged the kids to work in teams of 3 to 4 Young Bloods, each paired with a Pro Rider. Their mission: film their own footage and create unique "Young Blood Meets Pro Team Camp" clips for each training group. The creativity and teamwork on display were incredible. Check out the winning reel HERE
The participants were thrilled to discover a brand-new WOO set in their goodie bag! The dedicated #youngblood2024 WOO high jump contest will run until November 11th. Stay tuned and let’s see who can reach new heights!

Day 1
The first day of the camp kicked off with a bang—rain, stormy weather, and an impromptu storm chase that led the whole team north to Playa Valdelagrana. Despite the one hour drive in the rain, the effort paid off with fantastic Wing Foiling conditions and even a bit of sunshine. The youngsters delivered an incredible display of skills, pulling off trick after trick for three straight hours. Their camaraderie on the water was evident as they encouraged each other to push for new tricks.
One highlight of the day was 13-year-old Kalle Dinant from the Netherlands landing his first Backmobe, possibly the youngest rider to ever achieve this.
Back in Tarifa, the crew returned hungry and tired, closing the day with a quick dinner and a warm welcome at the campsite. But rest was short-lived—teams quickly gathered to review the day's GoPro footage, reliving the action-packed day.
»I am so happy and stoked. It just feels awesome to be here and ride with all these young wingers, that motivates me so much!«
Day 2
Day 2 of the camp kicked off with a physical training session led by the legendary trainer Kuky. In the morning, a variety of workshops gave the kids a chance to rest their bodies while keeping their minds engaged.
Henning Nockel shared valuable tips on contest preparation, reminding everyone that the path to success starts now. Jerome Cloetens offered insights on working effectively with media and sponsors, and Paula Novotna inspired the Young Bloods with a recorded video, providing useful tips on sharing the lifestyle of a professional athlete through social media.
Despite the uncooperative weather and wind, the Spanish Duotone Team quickly organized two boats for tow-in foiling action on a southern swell at Volare beach. The kids were thrilled with the Surf Foiling session, ripping hard even without wings. Not even the unusually heavy rain in Tarifa could dampen their excitement!
»It's impressive to see how each participant is really pushing forward. At the same time, the whole group is supporting each other!«
Day 3
Another windless day brought more Surf and Tow-In Foiling action, along with more valuable lessons for the kids. After another intense physical training session in the morning, Kuky shared his insights on how to prepare for the Wing Foiling competition season. Pro coaches Michi Rossmeier and Jerome Cloetens led freestyle technique workshops, reviewing the kids' Day 1 moves using GoPro footage for personalized feedback on a big screen.
As the sun finally made an appearance, the camp wrapped up with another fun Prone Foiling session near the campsite. Though the group soon dispersed to their home countries, they quickly bonded as sports mates, and everyone agreed: the three camp days were awesome, and it looks that they’re all eager for more!
A huge shoutout to our pro coaches Michi, Henning, and Jerome, and to pro riders Mar, Charlie, and the Acherer twins for their fantastic work. Special thanks to the legendary Jaime Herraiz and the Duotone Spain team for organizing the logistics and maximizing the fun despite challenging conditions. You’re all amazing!
