Hamburg City Pump
Exploring the City of Hamburg via Foil
City Foiling is a unique way to explore cities, and Hamburg is the perfect location for it. With more bridges than Amsterdam, Venice, and London combined, Hamburg offers an ideal playground for Pump Foiling.
The canals wind through the city center, vast parks, and grand villas, all leading to the Outer Alster, the birthplace of rowing in Hamburg.
Benjamin May loves to Pump Foil. After he spent a weekend at the Foil Festival in Fehmarn, Hamburg was the perfect nearby city to explore on his Strider and Amp combo!

A sunny day provided the perfect opportunity for a Pump Foiling city tour of Hamburg. Starting at the SUP Club Hamburg, the tour navigated through various cityscapes, from luxurious villas to lush, jungle-like canals. Highlights included rustic graffiti-covered walls, a scenic burger joint, and the famous pump dock near Café AlsterCliff, where the local Pump Foiling scene thrives.
The tour continued from the lake-like Alster to the salty Elbe, through strong currents and iconic landmarks like the Elbphilharmonie and the historic Speicherstadt. Each area provided a unique experience, from freestyle shots at the Pump Dock to gliding through the Speicherstadt's historic architecture.
Despite the physical challenges, this tour offered a unique and unforgettable perspective on Hamburg and its landmarks. It's a true testament to the versatility and excitement of City Foiling, making it an adventure worth experiencing.
“Pump Foiling in the city of Hamburg was an exciting adventure that brings the thrill of water sports right into the heart of our urban landscape. Hamburg's unique waterways provide the perfect backdrop for this innovative sport, blending the energy of the city with the serenity of the water. I am thrilled to see urban Pump Foiling grow in popularity, so cool to meet some other foilers there too!"
