HIDDEN GEMS

When thinking of wind spots in Brazil, the northeast - places like Fortaleza, Cumbuco, or Jericoacoara - often come to mind. We decided to venture more south to Ibiraquera in order to test our new wave wing, the Float, in some of Brazil's hidden gems.

Our team included Nia Suardiaz, Wesley Brito, Finn Spencer, fresh from the final GWA Wave World Tour event, accompanied by Stefan Spiessberger. They were eager to explore the coast beyond the competition. For many, it was the first time in Ibiraquera, and they were excited to discover what southern Brazil had to offer.

Luckily "part time local" Yann Rifflet was guiding our team through Ibiraquera, sharing his local knowledge and taking them the best spots. From day one, the conditions delivered – the southerly winds turned the coastline into a playground of perfect right-hand point breaks, setting the tone for an epic trip.

The morning hours delivered empty beaches with glassy waves, the sand still cool underfoot. With the wind shifting back to its classic northeasterly, the lefts started firing, and we made the most of every second - stacking clips, scoring dream sessions, and pushing limits.

»Ibiraquera was incredible. Riding with Finn and Wesley was a highlight, and the tow-in sessions were insane! Plus, surfing in the Wave Garden? Unreal experience. Can’t wait to do it all again!«

A rare windless day led us to the local wave pool for a fun reset before jumping back into action with a Prone Foiling session, tow-ins, and endless flights. Then the final mission south — a ferry ride, untouched beaches, and perfect ramps for sending it big. Five hours of pure stoke later, we wrapped it all up with a sunset beer, knowing this trip was something special.

While the northeast gets the hype, the south has soul - great conditions, empty spots, and an unbeatable vibe. The new Duotone Float wave wing exceeded expectations, and this place? It's now on the map as a must-visit for Wing Foilers.

»The Brazil trip was epic! The wind was mostly opposite from what I’m used to, which was challenging, but the Float made wave riding feel effortless. My favorite session? A 5:30am sunrise foil on perfect, long-running lefts - pure magic!«
