PUMP FOILING FAQ

For beginners, larger foils are particularly suitable, as they offer a very low stall speed and a great lift. A larger span of the foil enhances gliding characteristics and allows for longer runs when Pump Foiling. Smaller foils, on the other hand, make it more difficult to reach the necessary speed at the start. Therefore, it is advisable to begin with a larger foil to facilitate entry into Pump Foiling.

For beginners in Pump Foiling, size matters. Starting is easier with larger foils that have an area of over 2000 cm², as they provide sufficient lift at low speeds. Advanced Pump Foilers, on the other hand, can start comfortably with smaller foils that have an area of about 1750 cm². These allow for higher speeds to be achieved with targeted pumping movements. To get the most out of Pump Foiling, it's important to choose the right foil size based on your skill level.
