Wow! Great board!!
Actual user. 64 yo 85 kg intermediate rider. Bought the 85L 5'10" board and it is a ton of fun. It’s the inflatable version of Duotone’s Skybrid mid-length board. I found it to be buoyant, stable and easy to ride and jump. Super solid construction but won't hurt you or the board if fall on it or bash it against a rock. Tougher than all the baggage handlers as well! Easy on the bank account, too. The longer mid-length shape and narrower outline makes it release from the water super fast making it great for light wind. Excellent maneuverability in swells and strong wind. Should be great riding bigger waves. Nose rocker and shape provides excellent recovery on touch downs and in chop without sticking to the water. Solid mast/foil connection with a good foil feel under foot due to the carbon mast connection plate. Perfect size for travel. Includes well-built rolling travel bag, three foot straps and hardware to attach mast. A must-add to any quiver especially if you travel and are worried about your hard board being destroyed by the airlines.
A great Board!
I Just wanted to say that this, in my opinion, is a phenomenal Board.... I bought the 5'10 for traveling but it turned out thst this is my main board now because it rides so well. Before I had a Fanatic Sky Wing in 85 l. In direct comparison this board is so much more comfortable. I am more or less only using it for wave riding in north & baltic sea, a little bit manouvers, very few (tiny) jumps. I ride it with a slingshot ptm 999, my weight is around 80 KG. In my opinion it does everything 80% of all riders need. It gets going very early, it feels quite direct (of cause not as direct as a hardboard), it is quite resistant for touchdowns. Everything you want. Additional then of cause the portability... and at least im comparison to hard boards the extremely good price. So... Duotone... thank you really mich for designing this board! ;) I would be very lucky to see a new version in different colour next year.
Great little inflatable
This inflatable has a stiff feel and lifts off the water easily. It is a little tippy in side swell due to the rounded rails but if you point it strait downwind for take off it performs well..
Top Beginner/ Advanced Board 6'4''
In October, we finally had some wind for a few days in the south of Germany, and I spontaneously bought the Skybrid 6'4'' to start with. The board is great for me as a beginner with 92 kg and for the next steps. In my opinion, it's stiff enough at 20 PSI, and it's relatively stable for starting or getting up on. Once I find the right course, the board quickly releases from the water. The board is excellent for learning to jibe, and I had success quickly. I ride this board with the Duotone Wing Foil Set Free 1750, using a -0.3 shim, 66cm fuselage, the most forward mast position and straps in the front. Everything works great and is a lot of fun."
