DTW Clean Beach Day

our worldwide Clean Beach and Trail Days ARE kicking off THIS WEEKEND from 28.04. – 01.05.2022. As watersports athletes and mountain bikers we feel connected to our oceans, lakes, rivers, forests and mountains. To practice these sports that mean so much to us, we depend on our natural environment and in turn feel it is our responsibility to take care of it.

The “Save Our Playgrounds” initiative from Duotone, ION and Fanatic aims to protect and preserve our environment for future generations so they too will be able to enjoy the nature and the stoke of our sports.

In 2022, for the third time since the start of our initiative, we call on you to help us clean beaches, lakesides, river shores, mountain trails and forests in a joint effort to Save Our Playgrounds. Kicking off this weekend, this year we are aiming even higher, running a Save our Playgrounds Mission for three months.

Kick Off events worldwide: 28.04. – 01.05.2022 

Join our worldwide initiative and help us Save Our Playgrounds. For 2022 we are once again partnering with Planet Patrol to make sure we not only clean up our local area but also hold the brands responsible for the pollution to account. Among all participants registered in the app we will raffle 2x shopping vouchers worth 1000€ each for the products of our Boards and More brands.  

JOIN US THIS WEEKEND AT ONE OF OUR ORGANISED EVENTS, OR HEAD OUT THERE WHEN YOU GO FOR YOUR SESSION AND COLLECT WHAT YOU SEE ON THE BEACH OR THE TRAILS.

There will take place organized clean ups in different countries worldwide throughout the whole period of the mission. Follow our brands’ social media or check the respective websites for exact dates and places. 

You can also team up with a friend and/or family members to go on your own Clean Up and participate in our mission. 

1. How to join
Please download the free Planet Patrol app

Find our mission SaveOurPlaygrounds by clicking on "Mission" in the menu bar of the app and then "Join Mission"

2. Get ready
Bring a reusable bucket or reusable garbage bag to collect the trash. Gloves will come in handy as well. 

3. During the clean up
The most important rule is to stay safe & healthy and comply with the current corona pandemic hygiene regulations of your location. Keep distance and wear a face mask if requested.

Clean up tips
+ Please do not use single-use plastic bags to collect litter!
+ Record everything in the free Planet Patrol app (see under 4.)
+ Separate what you pick up into recyclables and non-recyclables
+ Recycle what you can!
+ Covid-safe clean ups – comply with the current corona pandemic regulations of your location
+ Take pictures and share them via social media and motivate/challenge your friends to also go out there and do good!

4. How to record your collected trash
Open the Planet Patrol app, take a photo of each piece of litter you find and tag the type and brand of litter

Record everything in the Boards&More #SaveOurPlaygrounds Mission inside the free Planet Patrol app

5. Share your impressions with us via Social Media
Take pictures during and at the end of your Clean Beach Day of the trash collected and of your team and feel free to share these impressions with us via social media: 
#SaveourPlaygrounds, @ionactionsports, @duotone.kiteboarding, @duotone.windsurfing, @duotone.foilwing, @fanaticsup, @fanaticwindsurf, @fanaticfoiling

Most importantly: have fun & spread the word!
