We are beyond stoke to announce the first world title at the GWA Wingfoil World Tour for Paula Novotna.

At the penultimate event in Tarifa our Czech team rider secured the Freestyle World Champion Title in a final against season-long rival, the 15 year-old Nia Suardiaz. With three out of four wins Paula has such a lead already before the fifth and last stop in Brazil in November that she is uncatchable.

This season we have seen incredible evolution in Women’s Wing Foiling, driven by our two teammates Paula Novotna and Nia Suardiaz.

Congratulations to both for their incredible performance!

In the end it was experience winning over youth.

After over 15 years as a professional kiteboarder and now Wing Foiling athlete, Paula Novotna showed all her routine approaching the semi-final and final with incredible consistency.

The Czech pro rider from Prague stayed focused on the final day and earned meritedly the Freestyle World Champion title!

Still just 15 years-of-age, Nia Suardiaz exploded onto the Wing Foil scene this year, winning her first event in Leucate, France at the start of the GWA Wingfoil World Tour season.

In early October the Spaniard also became the GWA U19 Youth Wingfoil World Champion in both the Surf-Freestyle and Surf-Slalom disciplines.

For the final round of the Surf-Slalom discipline in Brazil we can again expect a head-to-head race between the two dominators of Women Wing Foiling. Nia is in second position behind Paula, so the winner will claim the 2022 World Title in Surf-Slalom.

Stay tuned for the final showdown.
