THE ACADEMY APP was designed to help and motivate you to boost your kiting level faster whilst reducing the risk of injury. We’re stoked to have added 24 new tricks to the “Hooked” category, which will definitely have the crowd cheering on the beach and boost your ranking in the app.

Amongst the new tricks are some seriously stylish crowd pleasers as well as some expert manoeuvres that only the most advanced riders should attempt. One thing’s certain: These tricks will not only set you apart from the kiters around you, but also maximize your stoke!

With one of the biggest trick arsenals in the industry, Brazilian superstar Reno Romeu is the protagonist in the freshly uploaded 24 new manoeuvres. Internationally often known as “The Trick Machine”, Reno is one of the most complete riders around and is stoked to share some super innovative, cool moves with the Academy community.

Now it’s your turn to take on some new challenges and boost your hooked riding to the next level!

RIDING BLIND 

  • As many freestyle tricks are landed blind, this is a crucial technique to learn if you want to step up your skills and style. 
  • We show you how to pop into blind, ride blind and slide back to the normal riding position.

UPSIDE DOWN FIN BOARD OFF

  • If you thrive on board off tricks, then you must learn to nail this one — wows from  at the beach guaranteed!

DOUBLE BACKROLL 

  • Doing backrolls feels great! If you already consistently stick the single backroll, it’s now time to go for the double.

FRANTRUM

  • If you consider yourself a style king, then the Frantrum is next move for you! 
  • Combining elements of a front roll with a back flip, the execution comes down to a  hard pop with lots of line tension. Let’s get inverted, yew!

LIZARD SLIDE

  • A unique, only very recently invented new move that will ensure all eyes are on you! 
  • Other moves where you fly low to the water surface, like the dark slide or the hand drag, will help nailing this one quicker.
