Young Blood
Promoting young talent for over a decade
Duotone has been organizing Young Blood Camps since 2006 emphasizing the importance of supporting young talent. Driven by great dedication and determination to help the next generation of water sports enthusiasts develop, unleash their full potential and ultimately develop a professional career, Duotone brings together talented groms with professional athletes, coaches and trainers. With the first camps being organized for kiteboarders, the Young Blood concept has been extended to Windsurfing and lately also Wing Foiling, offering support for young riders in all disciplines.
In 2006 the first-ever international Young Blood Camp in Kiteboarding took place.
For riders like Reno Romeu this first camp was the kick off to their career as a professional kiteboarder.
After multiple national Young Blood camps, in 2021, Duotone Kiteboarding stepped up the game. Together with new partner Porsche, it revived the Young Blood concept, hosting a long awaited international Invitational Camp in El Gouna, Egypt. Among the participants was Andrea Principi, who shortly after the camp claimed the 2022 GKA Big Air World Champion Title.
»What’s important to us is, to show the young riders that talent isn’t everything, when it comes to starting a professional career in Kiteboarding«
“What’s important to us is, to show the young riders that talent isn’t everything, when it comes to starting a professional career in Kiteboarding. Factors like Social Media appearance, the right nutrition and fitness program and last but not least the right mindset are crucial. That’s why we work together with professionals in these areas to give our groms an insight to this world and support them on their way”, Philipp Becker, International Marketing and Team Manager at Duotone Kiteboarding says. “Above all though stands our passion for water sports and the intrinsic motivation to pass this passion on to the next generation.”
In 2023, the Kiteboarding Young Blood Camp went into another round, with Duotone and Porsche inviting the greatest talents to a camp in Dakhla. For Porsche, partner of Duotone Kiteboarding, the Young Blood initiative plays a key role in promoting young talents in Kiteboarding. By supporting this initiative Porsche sees as a valuable opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and future-oriented sports culture.
“We admire the dedication and ingenuity with which this initiative supports and promotes young athletes. By promoting young talent, we see enormous potential, not only in the development of the sport itself but also in inspiring a new generation of athletes to push the boundaries and set new standards”, says Sandra Siegloch, Manager Sponsoring and Partnering at Porsche AG.
In 2024 more national as well as international Young Blood Camps will take place in all disciplines, making sure even more groms can benefit from the program.
