Lisa Claims Aloha Classic podium

After the main 5-star events in Chile, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Sylt, and several other 4-star competitions, it was time for the grand finale of the 2025 Wave Tour: the Aloha Classic. Conditions were epic, with strong winds and powerful waves - we couldn’t have asked for more! The highlight for Team Duotone? Lisa Wermeister claiming her first-ever World Cup podium!

Lisa Wermeister 3rd at the Aloha Classic

Lisa: 'The Aloha Classic was such an emotional event, with massive conditions, exactly the kind I love. Just qualifying for the final already meant that part of my goal was achieved. It was my first time reaching the final of a 5-star event, so I was already really happy to be there. Finishing third on top of that was even better, I was just over the moon. My first final, my first 5-star podium, and it happened in Maui, on my favorite spot. It had always been a dream of mine to stand on that podium, and being able to do it at 20 years old was truly incredible.

This great result wrapped up what has been a really special 2025 season. I reached several of my goals, like landing my first push loop this summer in Pozo, breaking into the world’s top 10, and finishing the year ranked 6th, which feels like a huge accomplishment for me. With this podium at the Aloha Classic and another one at the Maui Pro-Am where I finished second, I really hope this is just the beginning and that it won’t stop here.

In 2026, my plan is to spent some time in the Canary Islands to improve my jumps, and my goal is to have three solid jumps ready for Pozo 2026. I’ll be finishing my studies in June, and after that I really want to dedicate myself fully to windsurfing, spending more time training between the Canaries and Maui, and continuing to push my limits.🤙🤙'

Victor Fernandez 9th at the Aloha Classic and 4th overall

Victor : 'I'm really happy with my 2025 season. Of course, I would have loved a few better results here and there, but finishing in the top 4 shows that I’ve been in the fight for the World Title — and that just makes me even more motivated to train harder for 2026. I’m also really pleased with how my gear has been performing this year. I can’t wait for winter training and to get back on the water for some amazing windsurfing sessions!'

Alexia Kiefer Quintana Vice-World Champion!

Alexia: ''I’m really happy to have finished second in the world this year. It’s the best result I’ve ever achieved so far. Last year I finished third, and this season I managed to move up one spot, which feels like great progress. I was really sad not to be able to go to Hawaii and fight for the world title in the last competition, especially because the event right before that, in Sylt, didn’t go as well as I expected. It’s one of the most challenging stops on the tour, since every year you can find completely different conditions, so you never really know what to expect.

This disappointed me, but at the same time it has motivated me a lot. The next competition will probably be in April, so from now until then I have time to prepare myself properly, work on my weak points, and come back stronger.

I also feel really happy seeing how much the level among all the girls keeps growing. Every year everyone is pushing harder, and it’s so inspiring to be part of this generation of female windsurfers who are constantly raising the bar. That makes me even more motivated to keep improving and to fight for that final step on the podium next season.'

Liam Dunkerbeck 9th at the Aloha Classic and 10th overall

Liam: ''For me, the Aloha Classic is a special event, especially after last year’s podium. I came back in the spring for the 4-star event and to start preparing for the winter. This year, I finished 9th in the event and 10th overall, and I know I can do much better — so I’ll keep pushing hard for next season. My gear has been performing amazingly all year long, no matter the conditions, and that gives me a lot of confidence going forward.'

And besides that, we've seen awesome action in Maui from Maria Behrens, Svenja Chudoba, and Shawna Cropas! A huge thanks to all the riders representing Duotone in the waves all year round: it's been a pleasure watching you compete. With Victor Fernandez, Liam Dunkerbeck, Maria Behrens, and Lisa Wermeister all finishing in the top 10 of the year’s rankings, and Alexia Kiefer Quintana even claiming the Vice World Champion title, it’s been an incredible team performance. We can’t wait to see you all back in action in 2026!
