Season Opener Success in Leucate
Four podium finishes for Team Duotone at the first stop of the GWA Wingfoil World Tour
Austrian twins Tomas and Aleksander Acherer made a stunning debut on the world stage with a remarkable one-two finish during the dramatic season final of the GWA Surf-Freestlye discipline in Jeri/Brazil with Tom in 3rd!
Nia Suardiaz finished 1st in Surf-Freestyle and Freefly-Slalom likewise and also collected her 4th GWA world title for 2024: Nia is World Champion in Surf-Freestlye, FreeFly-Slalom, Youth and Big Air!
Mar de Arce finished 2nd in Surf-Freestyle and Freefly-Slalom making her 2nd and 3rd for the year in those two disciplines!

RESULTS MEN
In a super tight second semi-final at the Mondial du Vent, Rocco Sotomayor secured his place in the final ahead of Tomas Acherer.
In the final, Tomas and Rocco quickly pulled ahead as conditions became lighter. Tomas delivered the highest heat score of the entire event with an impressive 26.63 points, claiming victory at the first Surf-Freestyle stop of the 2026 season. Rocco secured second for his first-ever podium - so stoked for both of them, what a result to kick off the season! Also well done to Charlie Loch in 7th.

RESULTS WOMEN
The women’s Surf-Freestyle competition delivered exciting action and fresh talent. Newcomer Sofia Ginzinger from Tarifa impressed from the opening rounds, advancing to her first-ever final.
In the final, Nia Suardiaz dominated from the start and secured the win despite dropping wind in the closing minutes, while 12-year-old Sofia Ginzinger claimed an incredible third-place finish in her first World Tour event. Manon Dupé from Guadeloupe finished 4th, while Leonie Tröndl ended in 7th. Well done to all the girls!
