GWA Leucate: 6x Podium Finishes for our Duotone Team!

Austrian twins Tomas and Aleksander Acherer made a stunning debut on the world stage with a remarkable one-two finish during the dramatic season final of the GWA Surf-Freestlye discipline in Jeri/Brazil with Tom in 3rd!

Nia Suardiaz finished 1st in Surf-Freestyle and Freefly-Slalom likewise and also collected her 4th GWA world title for 2024: Nia is World Champion in Surf-Freestlye, FreeFly-Slalom, Youth and Big Air!

Mar de Arce finished 2nd in Surf-Freestyle and Freefly-Slalom making her 2nd and 3rd for the year in those two disciplines!

Congratulations everyone, also all credits to the rest of our team Charlie Loch in 5th, Rocco Sotomayor, Leo Suardiaz and Benjamin May in 13th an Zoe Schoenwetter in 7th.

In the women’s division, Nia Suardiaz once again proved her dominance, claiming her third consecutive victory at this iconic event. With clean landings and strong execution, Nia held her lead in the final, finishing ahead of fellow Spaniard Mar de Arce, who secured a solid second place after an impressive run through the heats. The level of riding among the women continues to rise, and Nia’s consistency once again set the benchmark.

SURF-FREESTYLE WORLD CUP LEUCATE - RESULTS MEN

The men’s division saw the Acherer twins, Tom and Aleks, battling their way into the finals. Both showcased next-level riding throughout the event and pushed each other trick for trick in the final heat. In the end, Tom Acherer earned a strong second place, closely followed by his brother Aleks Acherer in third — a powerful statement from the Austrian duo at the first big event of the year.

FREERIDE-SLALOM WORLD CUP LEUCATE - RESULTS WOMEN

The women’s FreeFly-Slalom at Mondial du Vent kicked off with high-paced action and a stacked final lineup. Nia Suardiaz and Kylie Belloeuvre secured direct spots in the final, while Mar de Arce, Viola Lippitsch finished in 3rd and 4th.

In the final Nia quickly took control by the second mark and held the lead to the finish—claiming her first FreeFly-Slalom win of the 2025 season and continuing her championship streak.

Mar secured third, after a strong performance throughout the event.

SFT Pump Foil Contest Leucate:

Over two action-packed days during the GWA/Mondial du Vent in Leucate, the SFT Pump Foil World Cup delivered fast-paced dock start and downwind racing in changing conditions. Well done Benjamin May for finishing 1st in the Pump Foil division and 2nd in Downwind (small tow race on day 2). and our youngest competior Manon Dupe from Guadeloupe in 3rd!
