PWA FUERTEVENTURA SLALOM X & FREESTYLE
The Canary Islands keep delivering, and this time it was Fuerteventura that put on an incredible show in both SlalomX and Freestyle disciplines.
The Fuerteventura World Cup kicked off with SlalomX, launching straight into one of the windiest race days in recent years, pushing riders to their absolute limits. What followed were four more days of incredible conditions and stunning coverage, making the event an undeniable success. Check out how the team performed below:

Jordy Vonk was battling for the win until a crash forced his retirement, ultimately finishing in 4th place.
PWA: 'Vonk had been enjoying the best event of his life on the World Tour as the flying Dutchman won consecutive bullets for the first time in his career in Eliminations 5 and 6 to force his name into the event title conversation as on the close of Day 3, Vonk was just one point off the lead. Those back-to-back bullets seemed to instil a new sense of confidence in Vonk, who started the next elimination with a solid second place, but then disaster struck in the last race of the day on Day 4 as the 32-year-old suffered a nasty catapult on the opening reach in the Winners’ Final of Elimination 9, which led to him briefly being knocked unconscious, while also injuring his shoulder which sadly forced an early retirement from the event. Despite having to retire, Vonk still finishes fourth here, but will face a race against time to be fit for Tenerife, which starts on August 1st.'
Sacha Fortune showing his potential while Jenna Gibson struggled to put speed into results
Duotone: 'As a young rider, it’s tough to break through when racing against the big names, but Sacha showed great potential by qualifying for his first winners' final twice and made sure none of the guys could afford to slow down on the racecourse. Finishing in 15th overall, Sacha did a great job and proves to be one to watch in the future.
In the women's division, Jenna struggled to turn her speed into results, but it was clear she was the fastest out there. The nasty chop and sausage buoys threw her off balance a few times, leading to some impressive comeback races. Still, she narrowly missed out on the podium, finishing in 4th place.'

With SlalomX wrapped up, all eyes turned to the Freestyle action. With a great forecast for the first two days of the freestyle window, the organizers wasted no time and completed both the single and double eliminations early, delivering non-stop action from start to finish.

Adrien Bosson & Niclas Nebelung in the top 10 while George Grisley lands a 'first ever' move in the PWA.
Duotone: 'Adrien narrowly missed out on the semifinals in the single elimination by just 0.3 points. It was a tight margin, especially knowing a better result was within reach. Despite posting one of the highest heat scores of the event with 37 points, he finished in 7th place at this year’s Fuerteventura World Cup. After a couple of podium places in recent years, this was for sure not what he aimed for, yet he feels statisfied showing he still got what it takes while having busy days at home with the windsurf center and being a dad since last year.
Niclas Nebelung secured 9th place, matching his best result here from 2023 after delivering several strong heats. A knee injury has been holding him back for a couple months with very little water time, so to come back into the top 10 felt good for him.
George was left with mixed emotions. He wasn’t entirely satisfied with his seeding but was incredibly stoked to land a move never seen before on the World Tour.'
