POZO GOES FULL POWER

The smallest boards and sails were the only option to survive: with winds blowing over 50 knots, every rider was pushed to their limits, delivering an absolutely spectacular show for the fans. Beyond the men’s and women’s categories, the week was packed with action from juniors, youth, and masters, all battling through single and double eliminations. With plenty of podium finishes, we’re proud of the team’s performance and here’s a quick recap of how they did!

THE MEN

Fighting his way back into the top 5 during the double elimination, Liam Dunkerbeck proved himself as one of the event’s true comeback stars! Throwing massive moves with impressive control, he kept knocking out competitor after competitor to secure an excellent 5th place finish. With his full potential on display, it feels like only a matter of time before he’s standing on the podium alongside the biggest names.

Liam Dunkerbeck: 5th
'This year we got to see one of the best pozo from a long time, I used in every heat my smallest sail the 3.4 super hero with my 76 grip 4 and the perfect combination for nuclear conditions. I finished 5th in the event and it felt really good because I did a good comeback trough the doble elimination sailing 6 heats. Now it’s time to focus on the next event in Tenerife.'

Victor Fernandez: 7th
'I had a great time during the 2025 World Cup GC. Happy with my sailing on 3.4 sail & 77 lt boards power up 😃. Stoked on my 7th place and looking forward to push more on the next stop in Tenerife.'

Carlos Kiefer Quintana: 13th
Lucas Meldrum: 25th

GIRL POWER

After waiting all weekend for the men’s competition to wrap up, it was finally time for the women to shine. The highlight? Alexia’s impressive podium comeback in the double elimination despite severe shoulder problems. After a tough single elimination final that left her in 4th, she came back strong in the double: first defending her position, then taking revenge by defeating Sol to claim her spot on the podium.

Alexia Kiefer Quintana: 3rd
Maria Behrens: 8th
Lisa Wermeister: 17th:
'In the women’s division, the competition didn’t go very well for me: after a good first round, I faced some really strong opponents and got out in the quarterfinals. The double elimination didn’t go any better, with really tricky conditions, so I finished 17th and I’m quite disappointed. On the other hand, things went a bit better in the U21 category: I finished 3rd and I’m happy with that result. I know what I need to work on, and I’m staying motivated for the rest of my time in Pozo and for Tenerife.'

THE FUTURE

The youth is the future! With single eliminations completed across all categories, it was a long week for the judges, but seeing the next generation push the limits made it all worth it. Special mention goes to the Gobisch family, with all the kids competing and father Lars Gobisch taking the win in the masters single elimination. Unfortunately, he couldn’t defend his title in the double as he had to head home. They all put on a great show! Another standout? Brother and sister Kiefer Quintana, who both dominated their U21 divisions with impressive wins.

What an event, what a show: windsurf fans were treated to non-stop action! And the best part? The wait for more is short. On August 18th, the action kicks off again in Fuerteventura with the first stop of Slalom X and Freestyle, where we’ll hopefully see team duotone shine once more.
