Growing up in Tahiti, Matahi has an innate love for the ocean and a deep connection to Teahupoo in his blood. Known not only for his skills but also for his unique style, the freesurfer has never lost his respect for the sheer power of this iconic wave.

His foiling journey began on the West Bowl of Teahupoo, without guidance or community. Matahi immediately fell in love with the freedom that foiling offers, allowing him to ride waves endlessly and explore different lines. The French Polynesian cherishes the breathtaking beauty of his homeland – especially at sunrise and sunset- and is passionate about all water sports, particularly surfing, foiling, and fishing.
