High VOLTage
This board replaces the Fish in the board lineup. While the shape is more refined which takes away a little bit of the lighter wind characteristics of the fish, it flat is a much better board overall. Very responsive in waves and feels like a proper surfboard under you feet. Where the fish sometimes felt a little slow throughout the turns this board does not. It’s good in the air too but not as good as the whip. But just by a little bit. Love that they added some color and got rid of the all white boards that yellowed. Keeps the board looking nice and new . Would love to see how this would go as a quad. This board rips the small and medium waves from gutless to some intensity.
Absolutely awesome
The 5’ 1” volt is a lot of fun. It is surprisingly good going upwind and you can carve or slash a wave to your hearts content. It’s fairly wide so easy to swap feet but that width can be a little slappy in choppy conditions and it would not be be my first choice in over powered conditions. The memory foam deck is really nice and absorbs the high frequency chatter and I haven’t noticed any heal dents. The graphics and paint job is nice and the color scheme matches the Neo dlab. It handles waves very well for such a small board and it really carves nicely. The thin tail holds extremely well and because it is still a relatively short board you can slash the wave too. In spite of the short length it handles coming down and popping over waves. I think because of the area in the front. A real fun board for those of use who have less than perfect waves. 🌊
