I grew up in a small village in Greece, not that far away from Lefkada, one of the best known windsurfing spots in Greece. Seeing people using the wind to go fast on a board looked very impressive and I had to try. Being super competitive helped a lot to learn fast. In the beginning I was trying to be better than my older brother. As I progressed, I was comparing myself to the other kids around my age and later on to the big boys in the competitions. I think it was important for me not to set goals too far into the future, this way I could stay motivated and enjoy every step of the journey so far.
