For Pump Foiling, short and thin boards with low volume (around 15 liters) are particularly suitable to avoid unnecessary swing weight and ensure a more direct connection to the foil. A flat rocker from the tail to the front foot increases the efficiency of the pumping movements, while a slight nose rocker prevents the nose from diving. Specialized shapes such as the Duotone Strider SLS are ideal for Pump Foiling.

Large Wing Foil Boards are not suitable for Pump Foiling. Due to the high volume as well as the length and width of these boards, they are particularly unsuitable for starting. For efficient pumping, it's more advantageous to use a more compact board, as you can execute direct and more dynamic pumping movements with a shorter, thinner board. To make the most of Pump Foiling, it's advisable to use specialized boards that are optimized for this discipline.
