Duotone WHAT'S NEW Magazine 2023
7 Since 2006, Duotone’s Young Blood initiative has assisted a countless number of kids and youth, aged from 8 to 18, to enter the world of kiteboarding. It’s a privilege to teach them the right techniques to safely enjoy the sport and to offer the opportunity for them to learn from professionals, as is showing kids, teenagers, and parents the positive effects that sport has on the body and mind. A strong focus of our Young Blood platform is also to spot young upcoming talents. To help the most gifted and ambitious young kiters to live up to their full potential, equip themwith all the tools and skills necessary to build a professional kiting career and accompany them on their path to pursuing their dream, is a commitment we take very seriously. So much more is required than just natural talent and riding skills. At such a young age, it is impossible to be aware of the high professionalism and many of the other factors that can make or break a pro career. That is exactly where our Young Blood Camps come in, and they have already proven to be a breeding ground for future champions. Airton Cozzolino, Matchu Lopes,, who have been on our team since the age of 13, are only one success story. Others, like Reno Romeu and Tom Court, joined Duotone as young teens, staying true to the brand even beyond their active kiteboarding career and now contributing with a multitude of valuable content and product feedback. More recent Young Bloods, such as Camille Losserand, GKAVice Strapless JuniorWorld Champion 2021 and Keanu Mertens, GKA Strapless JuniorWorld Champion 2021 as well as Lorenzo Casati, 2nd overall and Andrea Principi 3rd overall at the 2021 Big Air Tour (BAKL), are well on their way to greatly influencing where the competition side of the sport is heading. In 2022, besides the national camps in France, Germany, Italy, UK, USA and Australia, the international Young Blood camp will take place at the Makani Beach Club, in El Gouna, Egypt. With a team consisting of several top kite instructors and pro riders, a fitness coach in charge of kite-specific fitness and injury prevention, two videographers, a photographer, and off-the-water learning content, which will include social media training, finding sponsorship outside the kiting industry, video editing and specific heat training, and and and…We are very confident we have all our bases covered. From the very early beginnings, the vision of our brand has been crystal clear: To continuously push the sport to the next level by developing andmanufacturing themost advanced equipment, supporting the youth and creating the best experiences for our customers.
