Victor Fernandez and Liam Dunkerbeck have a 20- year age difference, yet they share more common ground than meets the eye. Both being introduced to windsurfing by their fathers at the age of 5, they grew up in the sport and developed an unwavering passion for it. Recently, Liam joined Victor at Team Duotone. Together they went to Sal to catch some waves. Victor “I love wave riding and Cape Verde provides some of the best waves I have ever windsurfed in my life. Having Liam over, being able to share this with someone likeminded, is great. He is a very fun guy to hang out with. Somehowhemakesme feel youngerwhenwesail together. I canpushmyself more when being out in the water with him, especially when going for tricks. Liam puts in a lot of time on the water and he has a good eye on reading the waves to pick the best ones.“ Liam “Victor is a hero for many guys like me in the world of wave sailing. I grew up watching him sail. To share a team with him now – to have him as a mentor – is a great honor for me. He has been one of the top competitors andwave sailors since I was young, and the way he approaches a heat and his performance during contests is truly admirable. He also is a great motivator, especially when conditions are not so great.
