Matchu Lopes Boa Vista is the 3rd biggest island of Cape Verde. To me it’s home. It’s where I come from. Where my roots are. It offers incredible spots for wave riding. The Bangladesh Wave is one of the best, most powerful, but also most scary waves I’ve ridden in my life. It was quite a process for me to get there. I saw it for many years and heard so many intense stories about this wave – legends of surfing went there, broke all their gear or got injured. So going there for the first time meant overcomingmy fears andmy limits. But what I found was mindblowing. It opened a door to something I had never experienced before. Getting barrels on such a crazy big wave, standing tall in this blue tunnel, touching the roof of the wave with my hand. It feels insane. This was something I have dreamt about since I was a kid. Still this place is very sketchy – I’ve seen many riders get hurt there, including me. And yet it’s the most amazing feeling every time I get out of the barrel of Bangladesh. Wesley Brito The English Reef – or Bangladesh as it’s also called – is a beast. Big, raw and unpredictable. It‘s the kind of wave that keeps you on edge, where every wave is a test of trust in your gear and your instincts. Riding it on a wing foil is pure adrenaline – there‘s no room for hesitation, only full commitment. The connection to the spot is intense; it demands respect, but when you find your line, it‘s an unmatched feeling of flow and power. 11 K I T E & W I N G DUOTONE
