ACADEMY APP INTRODUCING: SPOTS The Duotone Kiteboarding Academy App has always been aimed at connecting the Kiteboarding Community. First launched in 2019, it quickly became an essential tool for kiters around the world. Meanwhile, the app is home to 165.000 users from 154 countries, offering tips and tricks for each kiteboarding discipline and level as well as the possibility to connect with other kiters and Duotone team riders. In 2021, Duotone teamed up with Porsche to bring their TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team experience and expertise to kitesurfing, giving users the opportunity to also work on their kiteboarding skills off the water and to reshape the way they train. Recently, over 250 new exercises and 40 new training episodes have been launched together with Porsche and Duotone kitesurfing athle t Rita Arnaus. Now Duotone is introducing “Spots” to the Academy App, the all-new search feature that brings users even closer together. CHECK IN and share your location to connect with riders around you, search any spot and see who’s riding in real-time. Or get in touch with a local for tips from riders who live close to the spot. Simply look for the house icon on the map and see which users have marked this as their HOMESPOT. Thanks to these new functions, the Academy App helps you every step of the way to your first session at a new location. Simply log in and search for the spot you’re keen on kiting. The App will show you the precise location with the option to save it for the future and / or be navigated there via Google Maps. Additionally, to get a clearer picture of what the spot looks like, you can go through content (photos and videos) that other App users have posted on THE STAGE. Thanks to the new SPOT feature, users are now able to TAG LOCATIONS when uploading content. Additionally, the DIRECT MESSAGE feature enables you to send other riders private messages. Get in touch with riders who have marked the spot as their HOME SPOT and are more familiar with prevailing conditions. Inform yourself about local rules and regulations like particular kite zones, where to launch and land your kite, as well as the general conditions of the spot. Are there hidden rocks lurking in the water, or does the wind get fluky most days at a certain time, etc.? Or even arrange to meet up for a session with another user. The SPOT feature also makes you aware if there is a DUOTONE PRO CENTER in the area, which is the perfect place to reach out for all kinds of help or advice you may need. Last but not least, the SPOT feature shows you which App users are currently checked in at a certain spot. Through the Academy App, it’s never been easier to connect with the kiteboarding community, whether at your home spot or a new location. Meeting new kite buddies is now only a matter of a few clicks.
