Duotone DRIVEN Magazine No.04

The Evo D/LAB, in the largest size, 13 square meters, is a kite that surprised us with its all-around qualities. You can ride it in light wind with the foil, but you can also use it for big powerful jumps on the twintip in the lower wind range, thanks to its power. The D/LAB version became a bit more comfortable compared to the SLS construction. This may sound unusual but this is due to the fact that the thinner leading edge of the Evo D/LAB has less drag in low wind. This allows the kite to move forward faster when a gust of wind hits the kite, and you can keep the bar unchanged. This is more or less an automatic gust acceptance, whereas with the Evo SLS, you already have to open the bar in the same conditions to control the kite. The Evo D/LAB is thus also better to control in the top-end wind. Therefore, the Evo D/LAB also offers a larger wind range overall than the SLS or original design. This makes perfect sense for this kite because it is a freeride kite for the twintip. And especially there, as a user, you are happy about a large wind range.
