THE SURFBOARD The Volt SLS surfboard is a flagship of our Concept Blue concept. It is produced in a small production facility in Italy / Europe using recycled and organic materials. We spent over a year developing the layup in production, working extensively with Basalt Innegra fibers, which are also responsible for the distinctive dark finish. A core made from recycled EPS, stringers made from cork and organic bio-resin complement our efforts to keep the CO2 footprint of this surfboard as low as possible. This is not only limited to the materials, but is also reflected in the production process. The classic vacuum process, in which four non- recyclable plastic covers are used per board, is replaced by a much more complex mechanical process in which a tarpaulin is stretched over the board to squeeze out the excess resin under great pressure.
