Duotone Mag 2024

CONCEPT BLUE We don’t have to beat around the bush: The basis of the products for our sport is not organic. Nevertheless, we are driven by the desire to leave as small a footprint as possible in the production of our products. We ask ourselves these questions: • What can we do technologically to create a more sustainable product than currently exists? • Which materials can we use for this without compromising on performance and quality? • What do our customers accept from the look of the products? • And how do we manage to offer more sustainable products that may be more expensive in terms of material procurement and the production process? At Duotone, we bundle all of this under Concept Blue. And we are just as committed to Concept Blue as we are to our D/LAB products in order to explore what is technologically feasible at the pinnacle of our sport. Concept Blue is our contribution to developing a benchmark product in the field of sustainability in line with the current state of the art. We deal with materiality and production processes. We research and learn. Every year we take small steps forward, we want to make things better and better, knowing that there is still a lot of room to maneuver because compromises have to be made at many points. For now. But a start has been made: with two kites, a wing, two twintips and a surfboard. All Concept Blue. All more sustainable than their comparative products.
